There are many benefits LECD technology can offer transportation safety. The Department of Transportation and  American auto manufactures are currently testing  LECD sign and marker prototypes,  to learn how this technology can increase safety for drivers and pedestrians.

Some conventional road signs and road markers give off a glaring halo effect in adverse weather at night, or in foggy conditiions. This causes them to go unseen to drivers and pedestrians which can increase the risk of accidents.

Being a multi-point light source, LECD illuminates clearly without any halo effect or glare in bad weather conditions. Car manufacturers are interested in the non-emitting heat, durability and non-obtrusive source of light,  to use for lighted dashboard components, interior auto lights and exterior safety marker lights for automobiles.
